Aperture and angles, lenses and luminous light, pixels and prints, rust and recycling. My Oxidation series combines a lifelong fascination with photography and a passion for creating art from discarded and decaying surfaces.
For over ten years I have been capturing close up images of the corroded surfaces of abandoned cars and trucks, mining equipment, and industrial machinery. I am drawn to the colors and textures produced by the oxidation process, the intricate color and texture created when air and water transform metal.
My goal is to recycle “junk” into captivating images that engage the viewers and perhaps leave them intrigued by just what it is they are seeing.
