“Rise of the Rocket Girls”
Artwork inspired by the book by Nathalia Holt
The Women Who Propelled US “From Missiles To The Moon To Mars” by Nathalia Holt reveals an outstanding group of unsung female heroes. These women, “the computers” were smart, motivated, and dedicated to their careers. In that early era of rocket and space exploration they continually faced societal obstacles with their families and in the work place, yet their passion for numbers and their quest have given the world a pathway to the moon and beyond.
19 artists participating in Lake Oswego Reads Program share their art inspired by “Rise of the Rocket Girls”.
