Artist Statement

I am inspired by the natural world, the man made world of cities, bridges, people, animals, plants but mostly lately it is the settings.  I work in steps:  sketch on location in ink, design my layout in ink or pencil, and then I’m ready to paint or to begin work on a print.  I am a member of the Portland Art Museum Rental Sales Gallery, the Print Arts NW group, and enter nationally recognized exhibits generally for transparent watercolor or watermedia.  I also participate in juried events that document of our area:  Willamette Falls Heritage, Estacada Arts Council.  Every location has a story and I enjoy finding and making the area beautiful for the beholder.

Medium: Watercolor
