Artist Statement

In the summer of 2015, I painted my first nonrepresentational painting.

I see my paintings as a language of images that allows me to communicate thoughts and feelings that words alone cannot express.

I work with acrylics, oil pastel, and pencil exploring color, design and mark making. I enjoy creating interesting shapes and colors and seeing how they interact with each other. I paint from instinct and intuition. I begin with random marks, colors and shapes, putting down several layers until I achieve an image that feels complete.

I feel more connection to myself and others through my art.

Medium: Acrylic, Pencil, Collage
