CCC Presents Fabric Exhibition of

Portland Artists Erica Hanson and Junko Iijima

On display February 12 – March 23, Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm
Special Artists’ Reception on Thursday, February 15, noon – 1:30 pm

Alexander Gallery, CCC Campus

Hanson’s “The Unseen World” explores mythological, spiritual, religious and cultural archetypes using hand-sewn and collaged imagery on vintage linen. Her work blurs the line between art and craft while investigating the theory that matter can share space whether visible or not.

Iijima, an art instructor at CCC, invites viewers to interact with her exhibition “Ruffle Pit.” She uses fabric and lumber to create an environment filled with hand-sewn, pink ruffles. Iijima’s work explores the idea of femininity, comfort and protection.

Both artists’ work are supported by the Regional Arts and Culture Council of Oregon.

An artist’s reception will be held Thursday, Feb. 15, noon-1:30 pm, in the Alexander Gallery. The artists will speak about their work at 1 pm. Light refreshments will be served
