National Endowment for the Humanities Challenge Grants Program

The NEH has announced the fiscal year 2012 Challenge Grants program. Challenge grants are capacity-building grants, intended to help institutions and organizations secure long-term improvements in and support for their humanities programs and resources.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Native American Tribal governments
• State, County, City, and Township governments
• Public, Private, and State-Controlled Institutions of Higher Education
• Nonprofits

Clackams County Cultural Coalition Distributes $26,400 to 16 Local Grant Recipients

The Grant Program's purpose is to locally distribute private funds contributed to the Oregon Cultural Trust in support of goals and funding priorities outlined in the Clackamas County Plan for Arts, Heritage and Humanities. This year's priorities included:

• Creative People and Organizations
• Heritage and History
• Participation in the Arts
• Public Art
• Facilities and Sites
• K - 12 Education and Lifelong Learning
• Natural Site
