My paintings investigate a keen interest in rural structures both natural and human made. Inspiration hits me while driving past nastalgic scenes just beyond the Urban Growth Boundary. Subjects that catch my eye include overlapping hillsides, delapidated out buildings, oblique tree structures, and winding pathways embraced with subtle light and harmonious color relationships. I love the direct association of working from life and have been active in recent plein air (outdoor) paintouts through out the state.
