About the class

Explore the exciting, challenging medium of transparent watercolor! Learn to mix colors, the basics of composition, and the elements of perspective and drawing.

Supply list for Watercolor Class Paints:

  • The following colors are the minimum colors that you need
    • Alizarin Crimson
    • Permanent Rose
    • Ultramarine Blue
    • Cobalt Blue
    • Gamboge Lemon Yellow
  • Additional colors (if desired)
    • Sepia or Burnt Umber
    • Phthalo Blue or Prussian Blue or Antwerp Blue
    • Raw Sienna or Yellow Ochre
    • Cadmium Red Light
    • Cerulean Blue
    • Winsor Orange or Benzimida Orange
    • Permanent Magenta or Winsor Violet
    • Transparent Red Iron Oxide
    • Napthol Red
  • Brushes
    • 1.5 inch wash brush (you can use a foam brush instead)
    • .5 inch flat brush
    • A small brush to sign your name #6 or #4 round brush if desired
  • Palette Paper: 140 pound cold press • make sure that it is 100% cotton!!!
  • Water containers
  • A small spray bottle
  • A piece of foamcore board to use as a support for your paper
  • Tissue A rag for wiping your brush
  • A sponge for texture (natural sponges make more interesting texture)
  • Pencil and eraser
  • It’s also nice to have graphite paper to transfer designs
  • A small amount of salt for special effects.
