Artist Group Statement
The Photography Group meets every 3rd Thursday of the month at the Sandy Public Library. They teach and inspire each other to create better photographs.
The group was created in 2016. Usual meetings are group outings or workshops led by members or other guests. The group ranges from novice to seasoned professional. There is much to learn at any level and everyone has inspiration to share.
One of the favorite exercises is a blind critique of work. The group’s “Show no Tell” event invites photographers to show their work anonymously while the rest of the group share their thoughts on the work. Part of the fun is to match the photograph to photographer.
2019 marks the group’s first major project- “24 hours in Sandy”, and its twin project in Welches. The end product is a book with a photograph for each hour of a typical day in Sandy. Now available for checkout through the LINCC.org website.
The collection for this exhibit is as diverse as the group. Each member has picked out what to exhibit individually.
