Arts Council of Lake Oswego – Call to Artists
Plein Air Chronicling 2020
Deadline: Monday, July 20, by 5 pm PST
Eligibility: This exhibition is open to all artists over the age of 18. Artists must produce—paint or draw—the entirety of their work in the outdoors in Lake Oswego and/or surrounding areas. All works must be created and completed within the dates of March 2020 – July 2020.
Chronicling the landscapes of 2020—and the changed world we inhabit.
The Arts Council of Lake Oswego invites artists to participate in the 6th annual Plein Air Lake Oswego. In many ways, the landscape of 2020 looks much different than previous years. In light of the continued restrictions, health and safety risks due to COVID-19, and ongoing social justice movements, this year’s Plein Air will take an alternative approach. We will accept paintings and drawings done en plein air (in the outdoors) in Lake Oswego and surrounding areas, however we will not be holding “paint-out” events. Artworks can be of any landscape – urban or rural – or even your own front/backyard. The term “landscape” can be interpreted creatively, as long as the artwork is made en plein air and not from a photograph. Up to three works from each participating artist will be curated into our ARTspace gallery.
