Call to Artists
Deadline: February 16, 2020
The 57th annual Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts is seeking local, national and international artists for three distinct art exhibits. Each exhibit highlights a unique art medium and theme, and all work will be seen by nearly 25,000 Festival goers this June 26-28, 2020. This year’s exhibits include:
The Call – Small Worlds, the 2020 Artist’s Vision Juried Exhibit addresses microcosmos: miniature representations of humanity, society, the world, the universe. Have you ever gazed at a doll house and imagined a world inside? Have you paused at the sight of a mossy patch in the middle of an urban sidewalk and wondered what might live there unseen and un-regarded? If so, this is your moment to share your visions of the micro-world.
When developing work for this exhibit, envision a 2D or 3D diorama and everything you need to infer the existence of a larger world. Familiar examples include doll houses, museum dioramas, infographics, etc. Share with viewers the details and boundaries of your found universe!
