The Arts Council of Lake Oswego (ACLO) presents
UNCORKED! Chronicle en Plein Air
Fifth Annual Lake Oswego Plein Air Paint-Out First Friday Reception
August 2 and September 6, 5 to 7 pm
510 Museum & ARTspace, Lake Oswego
Don’t miss your chance to watch artists create masterpieces in the open-air! The Arts Council of Lake Oswego is pleased to invite artists, residents, and visitors to enjoy one of the region’s best Plein Air events. This city-wide event includes two paint-out weekends June 14-16 and June 21-23 and an exhibition on view July 12 – September 20, 11 am – 4 pm.
Over 50 artists will paint in the beautiful outdoor landscapes of Lake Oswego. Plein Air, which translates to in the open air, is a painting tradition that began early in the nineteenth century and was championed by the Impressionist painters, largely as a result of the invention of portable paints and supplies.
The public can see artists in action sunrise to sunset at these Lake Oswego parks, plazas, and events: Foothills Park, George Rogers Park, Roehr Park, Sundeleaf Plaza, Millennium Plaza, Luscher Farm, Lakeview Village, and the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts. This year, the Arts Council is pleased to partner with Campbell Lane Winery and Tumwater Vineyards as two new paint-out locations.
Following the paint-outs, finished plein air artwork will be curated into an exhibition, UNCORKED! Chronicle en Plein Air in the Arts Council’s ARTspace, located at 510 1st Street in Lake Oswego.
