Free-Range Poetry at Estacada Public Library

May 5 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Free
National Poetry Month

A free-range poetry session presented by The Estacada Poetry Project and the Estacada Public Library
Sunday, May 5, 2 pm
Flora Room of the Estacada Public Library

Reading poetry aloud can release the true power of a poem. The public is invited to bring a favorite poem or poetry by their own hand to read out loud, or to just enjoy hearing others read.

In the display case near the computer stations will be an exhibit celebrating Weldon Kees, polymath of the mid-century generation. He was a skilled jazz pianist, a respected abstract expressionist painter, and collaborator on a seminal study of non-verbal communication with psychiatrist Jurgen Ruesch. He is mostly remembered for his poetry.
