DESCRIPTION:Stairwell Gallery: The Silk Paintings of Lê Trung Chính\nMonth of February\, all open hours\nThe Silk Paintings of Lê Trung Chính features works by the Vietnamese-born artist known for his luminous paintings on white silk. Using the traditional Serti method\, he outlines forms with a water-resistant medium before applying fabric dyes that are permanently set through steaming\, resulting in vivid color and fluid\, expressive lines unique to silk painting. His work focuses on people and shared human experiences\, drawing deeply from Vietnamese heritage and portraying scenes of daily life\, relationships\, and social themes.\nThe exhibition will be on view throughout February during regular library hours. Experience the expressive sound of the gayageum as Doyeon Lim\, the founder and director of the Korean Music Institute of Oregon\, performs Korean traditional music and shares the stories and meanings behind what you are hearing\, including the folk tradition of Arirang and its many regional variations.\nThis program is supported by the Friends of the Lake Oswego Public Library. Admission is free and no tickets are required. Please note\, seating is limited due to the size of the space. Seats will be available on a first-come\, first-served basis.
