DESCRIPTION:Stairwell Gallery: The Artwork of Cindy Reed \nMonth of March\, all open hours \nCome explore the works of Oregon artist\, Cindy Reed. A variety of mediums and styles will be on display\, including pastels\, powder pigments\, monoprints\, cyanotypes\, and collage. Many of the pieces combine vintage paper – from letters\, maps\, ledgers\, books and music – with paints and inks\, marrying text and image into what Reed calls “organized chaos”. \nTo see additional works\, visit the Cindy Reed Gallery on Dailypaintworks.com. \nThe exhibition will be on view throughout March during regular library hours. DESCRIPTION:HYBRID: Third Tuesday Author: Michael Balter \nTuesday\, March 17\, 7:00 – 8:00 pm \nAward-winning author Michael Balter returns to the Lake Oswego Public Library for an evening of crime fiction\, true stories\, and behind-the-scenes intrigue. Balter is the author of the acclaimed crime thriller series featuring Marty Schott and Bo Bishop—a series set partly right here in Lake Oswego. \nIn this engaging author talk\, Balter will share the remarkable real-world stories that inspired his second novel\, The Vatican Deal. Drawing from years of research and firsthand experience\, he’ll explore the secretive Chiurazzi Foundry and its treasure trove of historic sculpture molds\, the extraordinary deal he made to license the Vatican seal\, the scandal that brought down the head of the Vatican Bank\, and one of the most violent and consequential mob wars in modern Italian history. \nBalter will also give the first public reading from his upcoming third novel\, scheduled for publication this summer\, bringing Marty and Bo back to Lake Oswego once again. \nThis program is supported by the Friends of the Lake Oswego Public Library. Please note\, seating is limited due to the size of the space. Seats will be available on a first-come\, first-served basis. A livestream will be available.
