DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Art Decked Out celebration of Matt Patterson’s art. A New York Times bestselling illustrator and Fellow of The Explorers Club\, Patterson has traveled from the rainforests of Belize to the remote thickets of Madagascar to capture the “Wild & Luscious” essence of the natural world. Known for his staggering realism and commitment to conservation\, his award-winning work—including the 2024 Sibert Honor-winning The Book of Turtles—bridges the gap between fine art and field biology. Whether catching alligators from a kayak or documenting critically endangered tortoises\, Patterson’s art is a testament to the beauty of the species he works tirelessly to protect. Get a first look at his original illustrations and hear about The Wetlands Conservancy’s work to save the native turtles and Wetlands of Oregon. Anne & Danny Schauffler and JoseLuis Sosa are musical guests. Bring a picnic as chairs & tables will be set up on the lawn for this festive event. Beverages are available for purchase. DESCRIPTION:The SICC Forest Festival is a lively celebration of Oregon forests\, creativity\, and community\, bringing chainsaw artists\, forestry professionals\, educators\, and families together in Sandy\, Oregon for an unforgettable weekend. While the festival includes timber sports\, mechanized demos\, outdoor education\, and hands-on experiences throughout the grounds\, Sunday afternoon is where the art truly takes center stage. \nOver three days\, talented chainsaw artists transform massive Oregon logs into stunning sculptures right in front of the public. Visitors get to watch the entire process unfold\, from rough cuts and flying sawdust to the final polished details. It is part sculpture showcase\, part live performance\, and part celebration of Pacific Northwest culture. \nSunday’s judging ceremony highlights the incredible craftsmanship\, imagination\, and personality behind each piece. Immediately following the awards\, the festival hosts a live auction where guests can meet artists\, support their work directly\, and bid on one-of-a-kind carvings that carry the spirit of Oregon forests home with them.Local artist\, Johnny Kimball\, will be attempting a Guinness World Record attempt June 5th @noon through June 6th @noon. \nHosted by Trajectory\, the SICC Forest Festival blends art\, forestry\, storytelling\, trades\, and community into a weekend that is energetic\, welcoming\, and uniquely Oregon.

This special art exhibit celebrates Creative Arts Community’s 60 years of programming\, and features works by CAC instructors\, coordinators\, and board members spanning those past six decades. \nArtists included are: \nBarbara Black \nSusie Cowan \nYuji Hiratsuka \nJunko Iijima \nMary Josephson \nMichael Knutson \nCynthia Lahti \nDennis Meiners \nPaul Missal \nSarah Wolf Newlands \nDale Rawls \nLettie Jane Rennekamp \nSandy Roumagoux \nChristopher Shotola-Hardt \nMelinda Thorsnes \nDiane Trapp \nPhyllis Trowbridge \nRick True \nThe exhibit also includes displays of ephemera from the Creative Arts Community archive. \nThe exhibit will be on view through July 17 every Tuesday–Friday from 10am–5pm at Artspace Gallery\, 380 A Avenue\, Suite A\, Lake Oswego. We’re located in the city hall building next door to Booktique.
