SUMMARY:StoryWalk "Song in the City"
DESCRIPTION:Visit Iron Mountain Park to read our newest StoryWalk® installation\, Song in the City. Written by Daniel Bernstrom and illustrated by Jenin Mohammed\, it tells the story of a young blind girl filled to overflowing with the sounds of her beloved city. Poetically rhythmic and lightly humorous\, the tale bridges the gap between generations of music and family while centering love\, understanding and joy. Celebrate Disability Pride Month at one of Lake Oswego’s most accessible natural areas\, Iron Mountain Park. \nThe StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier Vermont. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. \nIron Mountain Park is located at 2401 Iron Mountain Rd.\, Lake Oswego. For more information\, contact Youth Services at 503-697-6580.

SUMMARY:Natural History Book Group
DESCRIPTION:The Natural History Book Group was founded on the recognition that Indigenous peoples have maintained a deep and reciprocal relationship with the land now known as Lake Oswego for millennia\, the group acknowledges this history as an essential grounding for its work. Through participant-selected readings that focus on Traditional Ecological Knowledge\, members explore how literature and nonfiction can deepen our understanding of the watershed and its indigenous history\, while inspiring practical steps toward a more just relationship with both the land we call home and its original caretakers. \nLed by the Oswego Lake Watershed Council\, this group meets bi-monthly on the second Tuesday of every other month (January\, March\, May\, July\, September\, and November) at 5:00pm. We meet at the Lake Oswego Public Library in the second-floor conference room. New members are welcome. \nFor more information please email Sharon Goss.  \n– \nMeetings and Book Selections for 2026: \nJuly 14: The trees are speaking : dispatches from the salmon forests by Lynda V.
