Led by New Century Players’ Board President\, Brandee Palmblad\, this workshop will prepare adults for their very first theatre audition or help those looking to re-grace the stage after life pulled them away. We will be answering questions such as: \n\nWhat is a side?\nWhat is a headshot\nHow does a theatre resume differ from a job resume—and do I need one?\nWhat is a “cold reading”?\nHow do you pick a 16-bar cut of a song?\nParticipants will have an opportunity to walk through a mock audition\, get tips on selecting a monologue\, get a sneak peek into what it’s like for the folks on the other side of the table\, and more!\n\nPlease bring something to take notes for yourself and any audition materials you may have already if you’d like advice. During this FREE event\, we will knit patchwork blankets as gifts to show immigrant families that we stand with them. \nWe will be working on 6×6 knitted squares (made with worsted yarn and size 8 needles) and sew them together to make blankets. If you have any finished squares\, bring them! \nPatterns will be provided and a knitting instructor will assist new knitters. DESCRIPTION:Create earth-friendly recycled paper filled with seeds ready for planting! \nEarth Day is April 22nd\, and we are focusing on earth-friendly creativity during this month. And what is more timely than making handmade paper (out of recycled scraps) along with wildflower seeds to create more beautiful habitat for birds\, insects and us? \nJoin us at The Bridge to get your hands wet (literally!) as we take recycled paper pulp and seeds and turn them into something beautiful AND useful to our earth! \nThis event is FREE and all supplies are included. This event is hosted at a church but it is NOT a church event. There will be NO church talk; just a free community-building event that allows us all to take a break in our busy lives to do something that’s good for ourself and our community. We hope you will join us!
