SUMMARY:Makers & Creative Artists Workshop | Gallery Representation: Dos\, Don'ts and Is It For You Anyway?
DESCRIPTION:Art galleries offer exciting opportunities to artists\, from visibility to promotion\, credibility and access to collectors. However\, gallery representation is not for everyone\, and it requires intentionality\, focus and clear expectations. In this session\, Daria Loi\, Founder and Director of Imperfecta Gallery\, will share perspectives on how to join a gallery and how to thrive through a healthy gallerist-artist relationship. This interactive\, informal workshop will equip attendees with tips to identify whether gallery representation is for them\, how to approach galleries\, and how to ensure their relationship with gallerists brings mutual benefits and opportunities to grow and shine. \nABOUT: The Clackamas Arts Alliance offers its Makers & Creative Artists Workshop series throughout the year. These workshops offer creative people a way to explore business potential and opportunities.  \nWHEN: Sunday\, September 20 | 3:00 – 4:30pm \nWHERE: Oregon City Library\n606 John Adams St.\nOregon City\, OR 97045 \nCOST: Donation Suggested. In 2023 she founded Imperfecta\, a gallery focused on women artists and underrepresented creatives. Besides showcasing her work globally\, Dr. Loi has published 80+ articles\, co-edited the Routledge International Handbook of Contemporary Participatory Design\, holds 10+ patents and is columnist for ACM Interactions. She mentors emerging artists and innovators and is on the board and executive council for a number of non-profits.
