SUMMARY:POIROT: The Murder Of Roger Ackroyd
DESCRIPTION:The Murder of Roger Ackroyd\, one of Agatha Christie’s most famous novels and named the best crime novel of all time by the British Crime Writers’ Association\, has been adapted into a compelling stage mystery called Poirot: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Rick Robinson. The intricate story features unique characters who harbor secrets about blackmail and murder that only detective Hercule Poirot can uncover. Prepare yourself for a clever\, sharp-witted mystery that will keep you guessing\, “Whodunit?” \nFamous detective Hercule Poirot (Mark Schwahn) has retired to the English village of King’s Abbot\, where he hopes to spend his days tending to his garden. No such luck. Two deaths shake the village within 24 hours. Poirot is compelled to investigate when he learns that his friend\, Roger Ackroyd (Todd Hermanson)\, is one of the victims. To find the killer\, he enlists the help of the local doctor\, Dr. James Sheppard (Grant Byington)\, and the new detective duo uncover a web of deceit in which every member of the manor’s household has something to hide. No one will see the shocking twist coming as the murderer discovers there’s no secret they can keep from Hercule Poirot. As Poirot says in his imperfect English\, “I find there is fishy everywhere in this case.” \nThe ensemble also includes Elizabeth Jackson\, Tom Mounsey\, Lucy Paschall\, Brian Peter\, Ashley Pio\, Kylie Jenifer Rose\, Marilyn Stacey\, and Tom Walton. \nThe play is a murder mystery that depicts both murder and suicide. While parents or guardians are best equipped to decide what’s appropriate for their children\, this production is not recommended for children under 8. \nLTC’s production of Poirot: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is directed by David Sikking. The stage manager is Grant M. Christnacht\, and the assistant stage manager is Cassie Kanios. Scenic design is by John Gerth\, sound design by Marcus Storey\, lighting design by Dug Martell\, costume design by Moth Noriega\, hair and wig design by Miranda Nolten\, dialect coaching by Lucy Paschall\, properties design by Kyra Bishop Sanford\, and the producer is Steve Knox.
