SUMMARY:Chapel Theatre presents: Mr Burns\, A Post-Electric Play
DESCRIPTION:by Anne Washburn\nScore by Michael Friedman\nLyrics by Anne Washburn \nDirector: Illya deTorres\nChoreographer: Corinn deTorres\nMusic Director: James Liptak\nStage Manager: Amanda Healy\nLighting Designer: Dug Martell\nCostume Designer: MK Hobson \nCast:\nBonnie Auguston\nCristian Villaquiran\nIllya deTorres\nJessica Curtiss\nMagnolia Brown\nMatt Sunderland\nMishelle Apalategui \nAnne Washburn’s imaginative dark comedy – a play with music featuring songs by Washburn and Michael Friedman – propels us forward nearly a century\, following a new civilization stumbling into its future. \nAfter the collapse of civilization\, a group of survivors share a campfire and begin to piece together the plot of The Simpsons episode “Cape Feare” entirely from memory. Seven years later\, this and other snippets of pop culture (sitcom plots\, commercials\, jingles and pop songs) have become the live entertainment of a post-apocalyptic society\, sincerely trying to hold onto its past. Seventy-five years later\, these are the myths and legends from which new forms of performance are created. \nA paean to live theater\, and the resilience of Bart Simpson through the ages\, Mr. Burns is an animated exploration of how the pop culture of one era might evolve into the mythology of another.

SUMMARY:Addams Family the Musical:Young@Part presented by Krayon Kids Musical Theater
DESCRIPTION:Don’t miss your chance to see The Addams Family like never before. With a story full of twisted humor\, heart\, and ghoulish delight\, this production is a must-see for all ages! Krayon Kids Musical Theatre Company brings the kooky and spooky world of The Addams Family to life this Fall! Featuring 40+ talented young performers from across Clackamas\, Washington\, and Multnomah counties\, this show promises a fun-filled\, high-energy performance with breathtaking costumes\, spellbinding choreography\, and a set to die for that will leave you on the edge of your seat. \nThe Addams Family is a musical comedy packed with dark humor and heartfelt moments. Wednesday Addams\, the ultimate queen of darkness\, has fallen head over heels for a sweet\, smart boy from a perfectly “normal” family. As her affection grows\, chaos creeps in—especially when she confides in her father\, Gomez\, and begs him to keep her secret from Morticia. Torn between his daughter and his wife\, Gomez is trapped in a web of love and lies. Meanwhile\, Pugsley plots\, Grandma meddles\, and Uncle Fester discovers a peculiar love of his own. \nEverything comes to a head on one fateful\, delightfully dreadful night\, when the Addams family hosts a dinner to meet Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his buttoned-up family. What could possibly go wrong? \n“With a talented cast\, incredible choreography\, and a set design that will transport you straight into the Addams’ world\, this show will be an experience you won’t forget\,” says Taylor Miller\, Artistic Director of Krayon Kids. \nTickets Available: September 5th at KrayonKids.org

SUMMARY:Peppermint Bear Asks Witch Way To Christmas?
DESCRIPTION:At this year’s North Pole pageant\, Dottie is crowned “Best Elf” and in her speech remembers how it all began. Through flash-back\, we see how Dottie the witch arrived at the North Pole to take back Christmas – something she had loaned to Santa for a couple thousand years. Now she wants it back\, expecting that with it\, she might finally get a life full of love and acceptance – just as Santa does. But\, the threat of losing Christmas makes the elves reject this scary witch – that is\, until Peppermint Bear uncovers what Dottie truly wants most and the elves teach her how easy it is to get it – without taking Christmas away. The story flashes-forward and everyone celebrates Dottie’s win\, happy to have her part of the Christmas family at the North Pole. \nThe Peppermint Bear show is a classic at Lakewood Theatre Company and it’s perfect for families and full of holiday cheer. Each year a new 45-minute episode is presented. A light continental breakfast with rolls\, muffins\, donuts\, fruit etc and juice\, and coffee is provided. It’s a show that is perfect for ages 3-103. Doors open 20 minutes before each show.
