SUMMARY:Divination: The Myth of White Tea
DESCRIPTION:A white tea tasting\nStep into the world of white tea\, where quiet elegance meets untamed grace. Though often overlooked in the West\, this tea reveals a striking range from the honeyed richness of aged leaves to the tender floral and fresh green notes of younger expressions. Through mindful brewing and tasting\, we will explore how white tea embodies both delicacy and strength\, and how its spirit reflects tea’s gift of calm presence. \nThis gathering is offered with a suggested contribution of $35. To keep the experience inclusive and balanced\, you are invited to contribute what feels right for you\, whether that is $35\, $25\, or more if you are able. Offering above the suggested amount helps support those with financial need and ensures that spaces like this can continue to flourish. Every contribution\, whether financial or energetic\, affirms the value of community supported learning and sustains the care poured into this work. \nWe also recognize the systemic barriers that have historically restricted access for BIPOC communities. In acknowledgment of this\, we offer a $15 option for BIPOC participants who would benefit from it. This is one way we are committed to fostering equity and ensuring diversity is not just welcomed but essential to the richness of the experience. \nIf the set prices still feel out of reach\, please reach out directly. I am always open to working with you so that tea remains accessible to all who feel called to share in it. \nAll are welcome here. You are invited to arrive as you are and take part in a space rooted in care\, openness\, and community\, where each presence is honored and where we grow together through the living\, breathing beauty of tea. \nTo nurture a mindful and welcoming environment\, we ask participants to be attentive to sensory sensitivities by avoiding strong fragrances. This space is held with gentle awareness\, where we respect both our own needs and those of others. By arriving with openness\, care\, and respect for each person’s boundaries\, we cultivate a shared atmosphere where tea\, meditation\, and belonging can thrive together. \nIn the spirit of reciprocity and uplifting community together\, five dollars from each participant will be donated to Q Center\, a nonprofit that supports LGBTQ2SIA+ communities through advocacy\, resources\, and safe spaces\, embodying tea’s spirit of connection\, reflection\, healing\, and belonging. \nLeading this offering is D’Guar (they/them)\, a trans person of color\, tea practitioner\, and community connector based in Portland\, Oregon. D’Guar’s path with tea has been one of devotion\, curiosity\, and mindfulness\, centering the spirit of Camellia sinensis as a guide. Through their work\, Water Fairy Tea\, they create welcoming environments where tea is experienced as a teacher\, opening doorways to stillness\, reflection\, and shared care. Their approach weaves education with heart\, inviting participants to encounter tea as a partner in self awareness\, community belonging\, and attunement with nature. \nWe acknowledge that this work takes place on the traditional lands of the Multnomah\, Clackamas\, Chinook\, Kathlamet\, Tualatin Kalapuya\, Molalla\, and many other Indigenous ancestors and communities. We honor their enduring presence\, care\, and wisdom\, and offer gratitude to the land and to the people who have tended it since time immemorial.

SUMMARY:Sashiko Washcloth Workshop Sashiko Hana-Fukin Embroidery Class
DESCRIPTION:In this workshop\, we will explore Sashiko Hana-Fukin\, a traditional Japanese embroidered cloth created using simple yet beautiful Sashiko stitching. Hana-fukin translates to “flower cloth\,” a square piece of fabric traditionally used in the home as a kitchen cloth\, tea towel\, or decorative textile. \nHana-fukin are typically made from cotton and stitched with repeating Sashiko patterns that are both functional and expressive. These designs often feature geometric or nature-inspired motifs\, worked with even\, rhythmic running stitches—traditionally without knots. While classic hana-fukin use white thread on indigo or neutral fabric\, modern interpretations embrace a wide range of colors. \nDuring class\, students will learn how these cloths were historically used and how they continue to serve as both practical household items and meaningful works of handcraft. A finished hana-fukin is approximately 12–13 inches square and can be used as a kitchen or tea cloth\, displayed decoratively\, gifted\, or kept as a personal stitching sampler. \nBeyond technique\, Sashiko hana-fukin carry cultural significance. They reflect values of mindful handwork\, durability\, and quiet beauty—celebrating repetition\, balance\, and care through stitch by stitch practice. This class offers a calm\, focused space to slow down\, learn a traditional craft\, and create something both useful and beautiful.

We will start at 10:00 am both days\, and expect to finish each day about 4:00 pm “ish” \nIf that doesn’t have your heart dancing\, well let me just add more to your dance card! How much fun will it be to dress the part of Bridgerton on Saturday all of the ruffles and lace\, diamonds and sparkle for not only your day of creating but to attend an “in planning” reception to follow. I will be sharing the details of this event once they are finalized. Sunday the attire will be reflected in the theme of “If the Bridgerton Ladies Wore Jeans” what would they wear. I cannot wait to see what you all will wear. \nLunch will be catered both days. I will also be sending those that register a walking/shopping/dining map of our quaint downtown to include a list of activities that may be happening. There are several wonderful coffee shops and restaurants available to you to start your day and wind down in the evening. I am delighted to share our very special city with you. \nEveryone will receive a day pass for the parking lot just a few steps South of the store. If you choose not to park in the lot\, you will have to move your vehicle multiple times throughout the day. It is truly best to park in the lot. \nThe store will be filled with a collection of items for purchase that I have curated and reserved specifically for your Lesa Dailey\, Bridgerton weekend. \nThis is a link to register for the workshop. SUMMARY:Lady Bridgette Bunny "Whom" Loves Bridgerton Fashion\, A Workshop with Lesa Dailey at K.MARIE
DESCRIPTION:Lesa has created the magic that only she can with Lady Bridgette Bunny who will be the “diamond” of this season which is March 21st & 22nd. She will require elegant outfits one for each of the three events she attends. \nPlease read through all of the details\, like I said it is going to be a magical event. \nOn Saturday March 21st this workshop is creating the regal Lady Bridgette Bunny and her resting pedestal all in preparation for the stunning flowers\, ruffles\, and sparkling details you will create the next day. \nOn Sunday March 22nd\, at this workshop you will create the most elegant attire for the season: The Garden Party\, The Swan’s Ball\, & A Fine Society. These three stunning outfits\, each unique to their event\, will be filling our day with creativity and magic. You will pay your deposit now and the second payment by February 15th and the balance on March 15th. (Total weekend is $375.00) This a non refundable workshop. If your plans change\, please reach out and we will do our best to help someone purchase your registration\, otherwise you will be able to pickup your kits the week following the event. \nIf you have any questions please email me kmarielovesglitter@gmail.com

SUMMARY:Alchemy: The Myth of Puerh
DESCRIPTION:A Puerh Tea Tasting\nCome immerse yourself in the living tradition of pu-erh\, a tea shaped by time itself. With mindfulness as our guide\, we will walk alongside pu-erh through its alchemy of transformation\, tasting the wisdom it carries through the earth\, its history\, and the art of brewing. \nThis gathering is offered with a suggested contribution of $35. In the spirit of inclusivity and balance\, you are welcome to offer what feels right for you\, whether that is $35\, $25\, or more if you have the means. Contributions above the suggested amount help make this experience accessible to those with financial need and sustain the ongoing care and energy poured into holding spaces like this. Every offering\, whether financial or energetic\, affirms the value of community supported education. \nWe also acknowledge the systemic barriers that have long limited access for BIPOC communities. To honor this\, a $15 option is available for BIPOC participants who would benefit from it. This is one way we commit to equity\, ensuring that diversity is not only welcomed but integral to the richness of the experience. \nIf the listed prices are still a barrier\, please reach out directly. I am more than willing to work with you to ensure that tea remains within reach for all who feel called to share in it. \nAll are welcome here. You are invited to arrive exactly as you are and take part in a space rooted in openness\, care\, and community\, a living space where each presence is honored and where we grow together through the deep\, transformative beauty of tea. \nTo help us hold a mindful and welcoming space\, we ask participants to be considerate of sensory sensitivities by avoiding strong fragrances. This is a space of gentle awareness\, where we honor our own needs as well as those of others. By showing up with openness\, care\, and respect for each other’s boundaries\, we create a collective atmosphere where meditation\, tea\, and queer belonging can flourish together. \nThis gathering is guided by D’Guar (they/them)\, a trans person of color\, tea guide\, and community weaver rooted in Portland\, Oregon. Their journey has been dedicated to exploring the depth and spirit of Camellia sinensis through mindful practice\, story\, and shared ritual. Through Water Fairy Tea\, they cultivate spaces where tea becomes a bridge into presence\, nature\, and belonging. Their offerings blend learning with reverence\, inviting participants to meet tea not just as a drink\, but as a living companion in personal discovery\, collective care\, and connection with the natural world. \nWe acknowledge that this work takes place on the traditional lands of the Multnomah\, Clackamas\, Chinook\, Kathlamet\, Tualatin\, Kalapuya\, Molalla\, and many other Indigenous ancestors and communities. We honor their enduring presence\, care\, and wisdom\, and offer gratitude to the land and to the people who have tended it since time immemorial.

Each class has been unique\, well planned\, and an opportunity for growth and development. Louisa is an excellent teacher. Class-time always includes both learning and doing and having fun. While taking classes I have not only improved my skills but more importantly my creativity has blossomed\, and I feel more confident in both areas even if my pieces do not turn out as expected\, \nI am taking another class this term with Louisa and I am excited to work with her and learn from her\, continuing my skill development and enhancing my creativity. \nSusan B. \nLouisa is the ultimate Art Painting Instructor! I say this because she is an amazingly gifted artist. She is a scholastic instructor with the ability to motivate and convey the skills and nuances of painting to the individual needs of each student. I’m new to oil painting and so very grateful to have Louisa as my instructor. She inspires me and I look forward to continue taking art classes under her expert guidance. LO Parks & Rec is lucky to have her as an instructor! \n—Denise M. \nLouisa’s watercolor class is the most insightful I have taken. Her passion and enthusiasm is contagious! She has taught me to understand color theory and various watercolor application techniques. As a class\, we share our work with each other and Louisa provides positive and helpful suggestions. What stood out to me the most\, is the one-on-one check ins and advice throughout the class. She is always kind and encouraging\, asking if you would like help before offering it. She has inspired me to make watercolor painting a regular part of my life and keep learning! I would absolutely recommend to anyone who has been wanting to learn this craft to take her classes. I will be taking more of Louisa’s classes in the future! \nCathy \n“Louisa Moutos masterfully nurtures both new and practicing artists in their craft. Her easy manner and passion for painting inspires everyone to take the journey in discovering and expressing their own style. Using examples from classic art\, photography and everyday observations\, she conveys the fundamentals of recognizing color values\, shapes and composition\, allowing students to engage their artistic eye and confidently approach any subject. \nIn this relaxed and encouraging studio environment\, Louisa takes time with each student\, providing helpful demonstrations on color mixing and brush techniques which benefit all learners to get their painting to the next level. I highly recommend Louisa’s class to anyone interested in learning how to paint or artists looking to work in a new medium.” \n-Joy C \nI never took an oil painting class prior to enrolling in Louisa’s class but really wanted to learn how to paint with oils. I learned so much in this class and had a lot of fun doing it. Louisa is a very patient and knowledgeable teacher\, in addition to being a wonderful artist. \nShe incorporates theory\, technique and even some art history into the class making for a very interesting and satisfying curriculum. But the best part is the hands on painting instruction that she offers and her keen eye for helping aspiring artists get the most from our canvas! I could see my paintings improve and my confidence grow with each lesson. \nElizabeth M.
