SUMMARY:Mt. Hood Pride: QUEER CARNIVAL!
DESCRIPTION:Step into a world of joy and mountain magic at Mt. Hood Pride: QUEER CARNIVAL! Join us on June 21\, 2026\, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Coffee House 26 in Welches for a one-of-a-kind celebration that honors the diverse spirit of the mountain corridor\, from Sandy all the way to Government Camp. \nAt its heart\, Mt. Hood Pride is about belonging. This is a substance-free and family-friendly event\, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for neighbors of all ages to celebrate together. We are also proud to use this platform for a purpose: all proceeds from our event raffle will be donated directly to The Trevor Project\, supporting life-saving crisis services for LGBTQ+ youth. \nThis year’s theme\, “Queer Carnival\,” brings a festive “Midway” atmosphere to the heart of the forest. Whether you’re browsing unique handmade goods from local makers\, enjoying live music\, or challenging friends to classic carnival games\, there is something for everyone to enjoy. We’re creating a space that is as vibrant as a summer day on the mountain—complete with delicious food and drinks\, family-fun activities\, and a deep focus on community connection.

SUMMARY:Intro To The Myth of Tea
DESCRIPTION:Introduction to the 5 major tea types and ceremonial tea.\nJoin us for an introduction to the five major types of tea; green\, white\, oolong\, black\, and dark tea. Together we will explore the origins of Camellia sinensis\, trace its history and cultural roots\, and experience the art of gongfu ceremonial tea service. This class is an invitation to step into the magic\, wonder\, and devotion that tea inspires\, while learning how its many expressions continue to connect us to the natural world and our human nature. \nThis gathering is offered with a suggested contribution of $35. In the spirit of inclusivity and balance\, you are welcome to offer what feels right for you\, whether that is $35\, $25\, or more if you have the means. Contributions above the suggested amount help make this experience accessible to those with financial need and sustain the ongoing care and energy poured into holding spaces like this. Every offering\, whether financial or energetic\, affirms the value of community supported education. \nWe also acknowledge the systemic barriers that have long limited access for BIPOC communities. To honor this\, a $15 option is available for BIPOC participants who would benefit from it. This is one way we commit to equity\, ensuring that diversity is not only welcomed but integral to the richness of the experience. \nIf the listed prices are still a barrier\, please reach out directly. I am more than willing to work with you to ensure that tea remains within reach for all who feel called to share in it. \nAll are welcome here. You are invited to arrive exactly as you are and take part in a space rooted in openness\, care\, and community\, a living space where each presence is honored and where we grow together through the deep\, transformative beauty of tea. \nTo help us hold a mindful and welcoming space\, we ask participants to be considerate of sensory sensitivities by avoiding strong fragrances. This is a space of gentle awareness\, where we honor our own needs as well as those of others. By showing up with openness\, care\, and respect for each other’s boundaries\, we create a collective meditative atmosphere where\, tea\, and community belonging can flourish. \nIn the spirit of reciprocity and uplifting community together\, five dollars from each participant will be donated to Q Center\, a nonprofit that supports LGBTQ2SIA+ communities through advocacy\, resources\, and safe spaces\, embodying tea’s spirit of connection\, reflection\, healing\, and belonging. \nThis class is led by D’Guar (they/them)\, a trans person of color\, tea guide\, and community builder based in Portland\, Oregon. D’Guar has devoted their path to exploring the spirit of Camellia sinensis through mindful practice\, storytelling\, and connection. Through their project Water Fairy Tea\, they create spaces where tea becomes a bridge between nature\, presence\, and belonging. Their offerings weave education with devotion\, inviting participants to meet tea not only as a beverage\, but as a living companion in self discovery and community care with nature and the world around. \nWe acknowledge that this work takes place on the traditional lands of the Multnomah\, Clackamas\, Chinook\, Kathlamet\, Tualatin\, Kalapuya\, Molalla\, and many other Indigenous ancestors and communities. We honor their enduring presence\, care\, and wisdom\, and offer gratitude to the land and to the people who have tended it since time immemorial.

SUMMARY:The Look Back Lecture Series "First Fruits: The Lewellings and the Birth of the Pacific Coast Fruit Industry"
DESCRIPTION:In this lecture by author Linda Ziedrich\, discover the roots of the Pacific coast fruit industry and how the Lewelling brothers hauled a wagonload of fruit trees from Iowa in 1847 and planted the first grafted-fruit orchard in Oregon Country. Learn their fascinating history\, not just horticulturists\, but also as abolitionists\, gold miners\, and Quakers-turned-Spiritualists. One attempted to found a utopian colony in Honduras\, another helped organize the Grange in California\, and the third fought for democratic reforms in Oregon. Spanning the continent and nearly a century\, the lives of Henderson\, Seth\, and John Lewelling provide fresh perspectives on 19th-century westward expansion and Oregon agriculture. \nAbout the Speaker\nLinda Ziedrich writes about food from garden to table\, food in history\, and food across cultures. She is the author of several books about food preservation as well as two books published in 2025–First Fruits: The Lewellings and the Birth of the Pacific Coast Fruit Industry\, published by Oregon State University Press\, and The Curious Kitchen Gardener\, published by Timber Press. She is also the vice-president of the Lebanon Museum Foundation\, for which she had recently conducted an oral-history project\, and the president of the Linn County Cultural Coalition. \nAdmission: $10 for Members\, $20 for Non-Members\nPresentation takes place on Thursday\, June 11\, 7PM at the Museum of the Oregon Territory. For more information and updates\, visit our website at clackamashistory.org.

While the festival includes timber sports\, mechanized demos\, outdoor education\, and hands-on experiences throughout the grounds\, Sunday afternoon is where the art truly takes center stage. \nOver three days\, talented chainsaw artists transform massive Oregon logs into stunning sculptures right in front of the public. Visitors get to watch the entire process unfold\, from rough cuts and flying sawdust to the final polished details. It is part sculpture showcase\, part live performance\, and part celebration of Pacific Northwest culture. \nSunday’s judging ceremony highlights the incredible craftsmanship\, imagination\, and personality behind each piece. Immediately following the awards\, the festival hosts a live auction where guests can meet artists\, support their work directly\, and bid on one-of-a-kind carvings that carry the spirit of Oregon forests home with them.Local artist\, Johnny Kimball\, will be attempting a Guinness World Record attempt June 5th @noon through June 6th @noon. \nHosted by Trajectory\, the SICC Forest Festival blends art\, forestry\, storytelling\, trades\, and community into a weekend that is energetic\, welcoming\, and uniquely Oregon.

SUMMARY:Art Decked Out - Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts Kickoff
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Art Decked Out celebration of Matt Patterson’s art. A New York Times bestselling illustrator and Fellow of The Explorers Club\, Patterson has traveled from the rainforests of Belize to the remote thickets of Madagascar to capture the “Wild & Luscious” essence of the natural world. Known for his staggering realism and commitment to conservation\, his award-winning work—including the 2024 Sibert Honor-winning The Book of Turtles—bridges the gap between fine art and field biology. Whether catching alligators from a kayak or documenting critically endangered tortoises\, Patterson’s art is a testament to the beauty of the species he works tirelessly to protect. Get a first look at his original illustrations and hear about The Wetlands Conservancy’s work to save the native turtles and Wetlands of Oregon. Anne & Danny Schauffler and JoseLuis Sosa are musical guests. Bring a picnic as chairs & tables will be set up on the lawn for this festive event. Beverages are available for purchase. Matt Patterson will be onsite during the LO Festival of the Arts June 26\, 27 & 27.

SUMMARY:Healing Presence: Paintings by Claudia Dose
DESCRIPTION:A selection of intuitive\, mixed-media paintings by Oregon-based artist Claudia Dose\, currently on view as part of a Clackamas County Arts Alliance exhibition in a local hospital setting. \nThese works are created through a process of listening and allowing form to emerge\, rather than planning or control. The paintings explore themes of inner movement\, openness\, and the subtle threshold between tension and release. \nPlaced within a healthcare environment\, the intention is simple: to offer moments of pause\, reflection\, and quiet connection for patients\, visitors\, and staff. \nThis exhibition is part of a broader Arts Alliance initiative bringing original artwork into community spaces.
