SUMMARY:Stairwell Gallery: Beverly & Arthur Foster: Life and Death in a Potsdam Garden
DESCRIPTION:Beverly Chesnut Foster’s compelling photographic artistry brings a hidden chapter of Potsdam\, Germany\, to light. From 1933 to 1945\, horticulturists Karl and Eva Foerster cultivated a garden of extraordinary beauty that quietly became a sanctuary during the rise of Nazi terror. Within 3 its peaceful paths and borders\, several Jewish women found a way to hide in plain sight as deportations and death camps threatened their lives. Beverly Chesnut Foster explores the tension between danger and refuge with her lens\, capturing the interplay of fear\, resilience\, and quiet defiance embedded in the garden’s past. The accompanying narrative\, written by her husband Arthur Foster\, a former colleague of the Foersters and a former Berlin professor\, provides historical context that deepens the emotional resonance of Beverly’s work. The exhibition will be on view throughout July during regular library hours. Lake Oswego Public Library is located at 706 Fourth Street\, Lake Oswego. SUMMARY:Bridge City Improv: BULK FISH  /  DUCK MUDDLE  /  BENATAR
DESCRIPTION:This show is an improv duos trifecta! \nBulk Fish is Whitney Johnson and Phil Incorvia\, who bring a combined nearly-fifty-years of improv experience in many other combinations of people\, places\, and things. They are alumni of the Brody Theater Main stage (RIP) and spend their time off stage eating great food\, hanging out with children (theirs)\, and walking a feisty rescue mutt (hers). They also happen to be in a relationship. There are lots of kinds of relationships. Theirs is romantic. Sometimes\, they overcomplicate things. \nDuck Muddle is Whitney Johnson and Kerry Leek – two improvisers who are always trying to organize their ducks into nice\, neat rows\, but the ducks never seem to get the memo and end up wandering off. Whitney and Kerry have been performing on stage together and separately in various groups and ensembles longer than their birdbrains can remember. Come wade through life’s messy moments with them in a dynamic improv set that doesn’t take itself too seriously. \nKerry Leek and Kristen Schier are Benatar\, two experienced improvisers who love to play organically\, create memorable characters\, and be really silly together.  This show is what happens when you leave the two of them unsupervised. Their only goal is that you have as much fun watching them as they have when they are improvising together. \n\nDoors open 30 minutes before showtime.\nAll ages welcome\, though assume PG13 content.\n$15 online ticket sales end at 5pm on show date / $20 at door.\nTickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.\nIf a show is sold out\, any unclaimed tickets will be released at the door on a first-come\, first-served basis just before showtime.\n\nImprovisation is collaborative\, unscripted theater where actors invent stories\, characters\, and dialogue in real-time. Instead of relying on a written script\, the performers build scenes spontaneously based on suggestions provided by the audience.
