SUMMARY:What's Letterpress Printing? The Mechanics of Printing the Book by Hand With Gay Walker at the Wilsonville Public Library
DESCRIPTION:Walker\, an Oregon native\, studied letterpress printing and calligraphy at Reed College. She spent 20 years as the Curator of the Arts of the Book Collection at Yale University Library and later led Reed’s Special Collections and Archives for 15 years. During this time\, she curated exhibits\, created artist’s books\, and printed at home with her Vandercook 4 proof press and Albion hand press as The Wildwood Press. An exhibit of her broadsides was recently showcased in August at the Wilsonville Public Library. Join us to explore her passion for letterpress printing.

DESCRIPTION:The Bureau of Madness is an organization that has been pursuing tales of the weird\, strange\, and otherworldly. For four weeks only they will present case files of eldritch anomalies that have driven people to madness. Expect equal parts horror and comedy at this improvised tale of cosmic and eldritch terror reaching absurdity serving up chills and laughs. \nYOU help us select the case file each week: Will it be a tale of an expedition gone wrong\, a small town subsumed by a cult worshiping a strange object\, or perhaps space detritus that alters reality? Every show promises a dive into madness\, weird fiction\, and hilarity. \nDirected by Luke Zwanziger\, an improv veteran with over 20 years experience\, he has taught and performed around the globe from the New Zeland Improv Festival to the Edinburgh International Improv Festival. A true student of improv he has studied with teachers from UCB\, iO\, the Pitt\, Pack\, and more. A fan of horror\, Luke has been published multiple times Arkham Bazar’s Lovecraftian Microfiction (Vols 10 & 11). DESCRIPTION:The Bureau of Madness is an organization that has been pursuing tales of the weird\, strange\, and otherworldly. For four weeks only they will present case files of eldritch anomalies that have driven people to madness. Expect equal parts horror and comedy at this improvised tale of cosmic and eldritch terror reaching absurdity serving up chills and laughs. \nYOU help us select the case file each week: Will it be a tale of an expedition gone wrong\, a small town subsumed by a cult worshiping a strange object\, or perhaps space detritus that alters reality? Every show promises a dive into madness\, weird fiction\, and hilarity. \nDirected by Luke Zwanziger\, an improv veteran with over 20 years experience\, he has taught and performed around the globe from the New Zeland Improv Festival to the Edinburgh International Improv Festival. A true student of improv he has studied with teachers from UCB\, iO\, the Pitt\, Pack\, and more. A fan of horror\, Luke has been published multiple times Arkham Bazar’s Lovecraftian Microfiction (Vols 10 & 11). DESCRIPTION:The Natural History Book Group was founded on the recognition that Indigenous peoples have maintained a deep and reciprocal relationship with the land now known as Lake Oswego for millennia\, the group acknowledges this history as an essential grounding for its work. Through participant-selected readings that focus on Traditional Ecological Knowledge\, members explore how literature and nonfiction can deepen our understanding of the watershed and its indigenous history\, while inspiring practical steps toward a more just relationship with both the land we call home and its original caretakers. \nLed by the Oswego Lake Watershed Council\, this group meets bi-monthly on the second Tuesday of every other month (January\, March\, May\, July\, September\, and November) at 5:00pm.
