Complications arise when neighbor and lawyer Fred Gayley (Conor Eifler) tries to win Doris over by taking Susan to see Santa Claus. Young Susan is enchanted by the experience\, but Doris remains doubtful. Kris surprises both customers and employees by claiming he truly is Santa Claus and begins directing parents to other stores to find the specific toy their child wants. \nSeen as deluded and dangerous by Sawyer (Jacob Bean-Watson)\, Macy’s vocational counselor\, Kris faces a court hearing overseen by Judge Harper (Mark Schwahn) to verify the validity of his claim and\, more importantly\, his authenticity. DESCRIPTION:At this year’s North Pole pageant\, Dottie is crowned “Best Elf” and in her speech remembers how it all began. Through flash-back\, we see how Dottie the witch arrived at the North Pole to take back Christmas – something she had loaned to Santa for a couple thousand years. Now she wants it back\, expecting that with it\, she might finally get a life full of love and acceptance – just as Santa does. But\, the threat of losing Christmas makes the elves reject this scary witch – that is\, until Peppermint Bear uncovers what Dottie truly wants most and the elves teach her how easy it is to get it – without taking Christmas away. The story flashes-forward and everyone celebrates Dottie’s win\, happy to have her part of the Christmas family at the North Pole. \nThe Peppermint Bear show is a classic at Lakewood Theatre Company and it’s perfect for families and full of holiday cheer. Each year a new 45-minute episode is presented. A light continental breakfast with rolls\, muffins\, donuts\, fruit etc and juice\, and coffee is provided. It’s a show that is perfect for ages 3-103. Doors open 20 minutes before each show.

Young Susan is enchanted by the experience\, but Doris remains doubtful. Kris surprises both customers and employees by claiming he truly is Santa Claus and begins directing parents to other stores to find the specific toy their child wants. \nSeen as deluded and dangerous by Sawyer (Jacob Bean-Watson)\, Macy’s vocational counselor\, Kris faces a court hearing overseen by Judge Harper (Mark Schwahn) to verify the validity of his claim and\, more importantly\, his authenticity. This was fueled by the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882\, which banned Chinese immigration to the United States. On February 22\, 1886\, 40 men forced Chinese workers out of Oregon City and onto a steamboat to Portland. The group blamed Chinese laborers for taking jobs from White workers during hard economic times. Join Oregon Historical Quarterly-published author Jim Nicita for a compelling lecture exploring these injustices and the enduring history and legacy of Oregon City’s Chinese community. SUMMARY:WooWoo: The Myth Of Oolong
DESCRIPTION:Explore\, sense\, drink\, and honor oolong\, the tea that dances on our senses like fire and air\, revealing magic with every unfolding layer.\nStep into the world of oolong\, a tea of transformation and wonder. In this guided tasting\, we will explore oolong’s wide range of expressions\, from bright and floral to rich and roasted. Through mindful brewing and shared reflection\, we will follow oolong’s playful and flowing nature as it bridges the space between green and black tea\, inviting curiosity\, imagination\, and presence. \nThis gathering is offered with a suggested contribution of $35. In the spirit of inclusivity and balance\, you are welcome to offer what feels right for you\, whether that is $35\, $25\, or more if you have the means. Contributions above the suggested amount help make this experience accessible to those with financial need and sustain the ongoing care and energy poured into holding spaces like this. Every offering\, whether financial or energetic\, affirms the value of community supported education. \nWe also acknowledge the systemic barriers that have long limited access for BIPOC communities. To honor this\, a $15 option is available for BIPOC participants who would benefit from it. This is one way we commit to equity\, ensuring that diversity is not only welcomed but essential to the richness of the experience. \nIf the listed prices are still a barrier\, please reach out directly. I am more than willing to work with you to ensure that tea remains within reach for all who feel called to share in it. \nAll are welcome here. You are invited to arrive exactly as you are and take part in a space rooted in openness\, care\, and community\, a living space where each presence is valued. Together we will grow through the shared beauty of tea\, reflection\, and connection. \nTo help us hold a mindful and welcoming space\, we ask participants to be considerate of sensory sensitivities by avoiding strong fragrances. This space is held with gentle awareness\, where we honor our own needs as well as those of others. By arriving with openness\, care\, and respect for each person’s boundaries\, we create a shared atmosphere where meditation\, tea\, and queer belonging can flourish. \nIn the spirit of reciprocity and uplifting community together\, five dollars from each participant will be donated to Q Center\, a nonprofit that supports LGBTQ2SIA+ communities through advocacy\, resources\, and safe spaces\, embodying tea’s spirit of connection\, reflection\, healing\, and belonging. \nThis gathering is guided by D’Guar (they/them)\, a trans person of color\, tea guide\, and community weaver rooted in Portland\, Oregon. Their journey has been devoted to exploring the depth and spirit of Camellia sinensis through mindful practice\, story\, and shared ritual. Through Water Fairy Tea\, they cultivate spaces where tea becomes a bridge into presence\, nature\, and belonging. Their offerings blend learning with reverence\, inviting participants to meet tea not just as a drink\, but as a living companion in personal discovery\, collective care\, and connection with the natural world. \nWe acknowledge that this work takes place on the traditional lands of the Multnomah\, Clackamas\, Chinook\, Kathlamet\, Tualatin\, Kalapuya\, Molalla\, and many other Indigenous ancestors and communities. We honor their enduring presence\, care\, and wisdom\, and offer gratitude to the land and to the people who have tended it since time immemorial.

Highlights include a whimsical Ladino Hanukkah piece\, a heartfelt journey on The Polar Express\, and contemporary works by acclaimed choral composers Ola Gjeilo and Dan Forrest. \nAt its core\, Polar Opposites is an experiment in contrast—a reminder that joy can be found in the coming together of seeming opposites.
