Throughout the county, we have been so proud to see how everyone has responded to the new “normal” in which we all have found ourselves. At the Arts Alliance, we have continued to seek opportunities to lean into our mission of “Keeping arts and culture central to life in Clackamas County.” One way we have done this is by highlighting all of the wonderful events and opportunities happening virtually throughout the county.

As such, we wanted to shine a spotlight on our friends at the Sandy Actors Theatre. Due to the pandemic, their 2019-2020 season was short-lived, and they had to cancel their production of Vanya, Sonia, Masha and Spike after opening weekend. The play was very well received, and both actors and crew were excited to provide such an enjoyable experience for audience members, meeting their own mission of providing quality, live community theater.

With that said, they want everyone to know that their mission still stands and will continue once they are permitted to open a new season with exciting, enjoyable, uplifting and thought-provoking plays. In the meantime, they are inviting everyone to enjoy video productions of some of their recent productions, including Vanya, Sonia, Masha and Spike and On Golden Pond via their website.

So, enjoy a show (or two!) and if you feel led to contribute to the flourishing of a great, non-profit local theatre, please do so.
