As the founder and CEO of Press Release Marketing\, LLC\, she amplifies brands through intentional strategy and bold\, culturally aligned storytelling. \nHer debut poetry collection\, Daughter of the Diaspora\, blends personal reflection with historical insight to explore identity\, resilience\, and the lived experience of Black womanhood in America. Influenced by a global perspective—from living in East Germany as a teenager to serving in the U.S. Armed Forces and a passion for domestic and international travel—Crystal’s writing celebrates Black culture\, community\, and voice. \nThis author program will be moderated by Bruce Poinsette\, writer\, digital storyteller and organizer whose work is primarily based in the Portland Metro Area. A former reporter for the Skanner News Group\, his writing has also appeared in the Oregonian\, Street Roots\, Oregon Humanities\, and Eater PDX\, among other publications. His current project Black Oregon POV seeks to build a digital green book for Black Oregonians. \nThis program is supported by the Friends of the Lake Oswego Public Library. Participation is free\, and no registration is required. The lineup brings diverse voices and stories from around the world across narrative\, documentary\, animation\, and music video genres. \nSelect filmmakers will attend the screening in person. Following the showcase\, audience members are invited to participate in an intimate Q&A session to learn directly about their creative process\, techniques\, and inspiration. \nThis screening is part of the Lake Oswego Public Library’s World Cinema Series\, which showcases diverse international films. The series will pause in November and December and resume in January\, on the last Thursday of each month at the Adult Community Center. \nOutside food is welcome\, and attendees are welcome to bring dinner or snacks to enjoy during the screening. Their unified passion for chamber music brings forward a program that balances expressive interpretations of beloved classical masterpieces with captivating works by contemporary composers. This performance highlights the full emotional range of the piano trio repertoire and offers audiences an inviting and memorable musical experience. \nThis program is supported by the Friends of the Lake Oswego Public Library. Admission is free\, and no tickets are required. DESCRIPTION:Stairwell Gallery: Polly Zagone’s Textiles \nMonth of October\, all open hours \nThis October\, the Stairwell Gallery will showcase the richly textured textile works of Polly Zagone\, a self-taught artist whose lifelong devotion to stitching\, fabric\, and handcrafted detail transforms everyday materials into vibrant\, dimensional art. Drawing on decades of experience as a cabinetmaker\, woodworker\, and theater craftsperson\, Zagone layers hand dyed fabrics and found objects into pieces with bold colors and designs. Her custom wood hangers and hand braided Kumihimo cords add further depth and craftsmanship to each piece. \nThis exhibition will be on view throughout October during regular library hours.
