SUMMARY:Maze\, A Labyrinth Parody
DESCRIPTION:Twenty-year-old Sarah is given thirteen hours to solve a labyrinth and rescue her baby brother Toby when her wish for him to be taken away is granted by the Goblin King\, Jareth. Maze\, A Labyrinth Parody\, both pays homage to and pokes fun at the classic 80s movie. \nChapel Theatre is collaborating with Infernal Machine Productions\, a Portland-based film and stage show production house\, to bring “Maze” to life. A cultural phenomenon\, Maze continues Chapel Theatre’s focus on familiar storytelling\, presented with unique perspectives. The show will include a live band playing all David Bowie songs.

SUMMARY:Chapel Theatre presents: Mr Burns\, A Post-Electric Play
DESCRIPTION:by Anne Washburn\nScore by Michael Friedman\nLyrics by Anne Washburn \nDirector: Illya deTorres\nChoreographer: Corinn deTorres\nMusic Director: James Liptak\nStage Manager: Amanda Healy\nLighting Designer: Dug Martell\nCostume Designer: MK Hobson \nCast:\nBonnie Auguston\nCristian Villaquiran\nIllya deTorres\nJessica Curtiss\nMagnolia Brown\nMatt Sunderland\nMishelle Apalategui \nAnne Washburn’s imaginative dark comedy – a play with music featuring songs by Washburn and Michael Friedman – propels us forward nearly a century\, following a new civilization stumbling into its future. \nAfter the collapse of civilization\, a group of survivors share a campfire and begin to piece together the plot of The Simpsons episode “Cape Feare” entirely from memory. Seven years later\, this and other snippets of pop culture (sitcom plots\, commercials\, jingles and pop songs) have become the live entertainment of a post-apocalyptic society\, sincerely trying to hold onto its past. Seventy-five years later\, these are the myths and legends from which new forms of performance are created. \nA paean to live theater\, and the resilience of Bart Simpson through the ages\, Mr. Burns is an animated exploration of how the pop culture of one era might evolve into the mythology of another.
