DESCRIPTION:Stop by and enjoy the Library’s fifth annual Tiny Art Show\, featuring miniature masterpieces created by community members on 3” x 3” canvases! This exhibition will be on view on the second floor of the Library throughout November during regular Library hours. \nLast month\, the Library offered free Tiny Art kits with paints\, brushes and tiny canvases\, inviting community members to create art pieces for the show. Artists can pick up their original artwork\, along with a tiny easel\, in early December. \nThis program is supported by the Friends of the Lake Oswego Public Library. \nLake Oswego Public Library is located at 706 Fourth Street\, Lake Oswego. As the founder and CEO of Press Release Marketing\, LLC\, she amplifies brands through intentional strategy and bold\, culturally aligned storytelling. \nHer debut poetry collection\, Daughter of the Diaspora\, blends personal reflection with historical insight to explore identity\, resilience\, and the lived experience of Black womanhood in America. Influenced by a global perspective—from living in East Germany as a teenager to serving in the U.S. Armed Forces and a passion for domestic and international travel—Crystal’s writing celebrates Black culture\, community\, and voice. \nThis author program will be moderated by Bruce Poinsette\, writer\, digital storyteller and organizer whose work is primarily based in the Portland Metro Area. DESCRIPTION:HYBRID: First Tuesday Music: Classical Music from Trio Celestia \nTuesday\, October 6\, 5:30 – 6:30 pm \nJoin us for Classical Music from Trio Celestia\, an evening featuring three distinguished performers from the Pacific Northwest: a collaborative pianist from Linn-Benton Community College and Oregon State University\, a violinist who performs with Portland Opera and teaches at Oregon State University\, and a cellist with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Their unified passion for chamber music brings forward a program that balances expressive interpretations of beloved classical masterpieces with captivating works by contemporary composers. This performance highlights the full emotional range of the piano trio repertoire and offers audiences an inviting and memorable musical experience. \nThis program is supported by the Friends of the Lake Oswego Public Library. Admission is free\, and no tickets are required. Please note\, seating is limited due to the size of the space. Seats will be available on a first-come\, first-served basis. DESCRIPTION:Stairwell Gallery: Polly Zagone’s Textiles \nMonth of October\, all open hours \nThis October\, the Stairwell Gallery will showcase the richly textured textile works of Polly Zagone\, a self-taught artist whose lifelong devotion to stitching\, fabric\, and handcrafted detail transforms everyday materials into vibrant\, dimensional art. Drawing on decades of experience as a cabinetmaker\, woodworker\, and theater craftsperson\, Zagone layers hand dyed fabrics and found objects into pieces with bold colors and designs. Her custom wood hangers and hand braided Kumihimo cords add further depth and craftsmanship to each piece. \nThis exhibition will be on view throughout October during regular library hours.
