Basil & Art Festival

Scheduled this year from August 23rd through September 1, the Basil and Art Festival is open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily and is free to attend. Around 20 local artists from Canby and surrounding area are displaying art for sale.

The Gallery Show includes a variety of mediums including acrylics, watercolor, oil, pottery, jewelry and a range of handcrafted items. This is Jenni Kadwell’s 3rd year coordinating the festival. Her longtime connections in Canby and the local art community, including Charbonneau Art Association, have brought new faces to the event, including Holly Kroening and Brad Isom. Other new faces returning again this year include Charlie Watkins, Erin Redding, Herbal Earth Pottery, Heather Andrews, Entowhimsy, Lowes Lavender, Kris Kuester, Annette Ripplinger and Vonna Adams-Lawrence.

The Basil & Art Festival is presented annually by the Flower Farmer Farm located at 2512 N. Holly St. , Canby, OR 97013. The farm is located near the Swan Island Dahlia Farm. The small Italian family-owned farm began in 1970’s, sells a variety of fresh basil , corn and other produce during the festival; The flower farmer is open seasonally July – October.
