Emma Ying is an Oregon-based artist originally from China, with a background in industrial and interior design. Drawn to the quiet poetry of watercolor, her work is inspired by both the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest and the traditional aesthetics of Chinese art. Through delicate brushwork and soft layers of color, she captures fleeting moments—light through leaves, the stillness of water, the gentle decay of old architecture. Emma uses art to connect past and present, East and West, memory and imagination. Images of the exhibit are also available for viewing at the reference desk for those unable to access the stairwell.
