Join the Clackamas Arts Alliance and New Century Players for our upcoming Makers & Creative Artists Workshop.
In this workshop, we will explore the ins and outs of theatre auditions! Led by New Century Players’ Board President, Brandee Palmblad, this workshop will prepare adults for their very first theatre audition or help those looking to re-grace the stage after life pulled them away. We will be answering questions such as:
- What is a side?
- What is a headshot
- How does a theatre resume differ from a job resume—and do I need one?
- What is a “cold reading”?
- How do you pick a 16-bar cut of a song?
- Participants will have an opportunity to walk through a mock audition, get tips on selecting a monologue, get a sneak peek into what it’s like for the folks on the other side of the table, and more!
Please bring something to take notes for yourself and any audition materials you may have already if you’d like advice. Please dress comfortably. Please register HERE.

PRESENTER
Brandee Palmblad has been performing on stage since she was 11 years old. She is a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, NYC and holds a Bachelor of Fine/Performing Arts in Musical Theatre from New School University. Since returning to Oregon in 2009, she has performed with many local theatre groups, including New Century Players, Nutz-n-Boltz, Gallery Theatre, Pentacle, and others. She has served as a Board member for New Century players since 2015 and has been the President since 2022. She works full-time and lives in Milwaukie with her partner, where they garden and raise a collective 5 children (the sixth is an adult now, but still comes to visit!) Brandee is deeply passionate about the life-giving power of theatre, especially community theatre, and is thrilled to be able to spread this joy and increase connection through performance and workshop opportunities such as this. A HUGE “Thank You!” to the Clackamas Arts Alliance and Oregon City Library for making this possible.
