ABOUT:
Moving to Milwaukie, Oregon in 2021, I found myself in an unexpected friendship with a crow. Chavas called me into the garden, where trust grew slowly until he ate from my hand, capturing my heart.
This work honors that bond and the trees he and his family inhabit. Using the ancient art of Encaustic, which dates back to 5th Century BC, I use a mixture of beeswax and tree resin with heat, building each layer as a reflection of connection, place, and quiet companionship.
GALLERY/VENUE: Oak Lodge Library Gallery
EXHIBIT DATES: April 14 – July 14
