Terry Olson
ABOUT:
I use handwoven tapestry to construct images on a loom. Realistic or abstract, usually colorful, I weave what inspires me with experimental and time-tested techniques.
Half of these are wedge weave, woven on a diagonal to create scallops. The others are shaped tapestry, soumak, and traditional European techniques. I constantly indulge my tapestry obsession. It is warm, inviting, and colorful. The fact that it is also slow is an added benefit.
I weave and teach at Damascus Fiber Arts School.
