HYBRID: Artist’s Talk: Creating Enchanted Worlds with Sara Star

Join us for an engaging artist talk with Sara Star, a compelling speaker who offers deep insight into her creative process and the rich storytelling behind her work. Known for her blend of magical impressionism and abstract realism, Star weaves together lore, myth, and nature to breathe new life into ancient primordial beings while celebrating women in timeless narratives. Hearing her speak provides a fascinating look into her mixed-media techniques, including how she builds layered compositions using gold leaf, collage, and oil paint to bury subtle details within each piece. Attendees will gain a direct appreciation for how she translates folktales of wisdom and transformation into powerful visual expressions of beauty, healing, and connection. Learn more about the artist at sarastar.com.

You can view Star’s work in the library’s Stairwell Gallery throughout November in her show Enter Enchanted Worlds – The Magical Art of Sara Star.
