“A life-time Portlander, living in Happy Valley, I started painting 15 years ago, captured by landscapes and the natural world. Having a love for animals and a unique connection to them, I mainly paint birds, dogs and horses, drawing on memories of being around horses as I cleaned horse stables as a teen. I work in acrylics and like to use larger brushes with a looser painterly effect. My latest work captures them in what I call an illuminated series. Connecting the animal and their essence to the viewer is my intended goal at this time.”
