These linoleum reduction block prints are hand-inked and pulled with layers of color applied one at a time. I carve the block between each layer of color applied light to dark with each subsequent layer. Black is the last layer. My inspiration for these animal images comes from my sketches done on location, and worked up in my studio before I transfer them to my block. I work in several media but my subjects are always observed and sketched first, then I design the composition.
