This year’s collaboration with Open Hearts Big Dreams will produce a diverse collection of original artworks illustrating a new book to be sent to families in Ethiopia. The book, inspired by Ethiopian dances, will feature contributions from both local and Ethiopian artists. The debut event will take place on June 3rd at Art Decked Out, continuing through the Festival weekend in the Dee Denton gallery in Lakewood Center. Curator Jan Rimerman aims to inspire visitors with the transformative power of creativity.
Speakers at this event are CEO Open Hearts Big Dreams-Ellenore Angelides, award winning author Jane Kurtz and Ethiopian artist Teklemariam Zewde. The artists will be available to autograph the book and the proceeds go to the literacy project. Eleni’s Kitchen with feature Ethiopian traditional dishes available for purchase.
