HYBRID: Third Tuesday Author: Dede Montgomery

Join local author Dede Montgomery for an engaging exploration of her novel, A Map of Her
Own. Drawing on inspiration from her deep Pacific Northwest roots, Montgomery will share
how her family stories, connection to place, and her two prior companion novels compelled her
to write A Map of Her Own.
A Map of Her Own is a dual-timeline novel set along the Columbia River, following two workingclass women a century apart as they search for autonomy, purpose, and a life of their own.
Whether you love regional history or rich literary fiction, this intimate talk with slides explores
how uncovering our past and connecting to place ultimately shapes and enriches our lives.

Dede Montgomery is a sixth generation Oregonian and longtime West Linn resident. She is the
author of six books including A Map of Her Own, From First Breath to Last: A Story About Love,
Womanhood, and Aging, Humanity’s Grace, Beyond the Ripples, and My Music Man. Dede
spent her career supporting workplace safety and health, a theme that sometimes makes its
