Louisa teaches oil, acrylics, watercolor, mixed media and ceramics in a variety of local settings. Unleash your Creative Spark (Acrylics, Oils, Watercolor). Learn the fundamentals of painting – color, composition, value, brushwork and perspective to help you become a well-rounded artist. These fundamentals are universal across various mediums and styles. No experience necessary.

Supply list is provided after registration and payment is received. Easels are provided and remain at the facility.
Location: Brush and Palette building 4962 SE Jennings Avenue Milwaukie, Oregon 97222 (corner of Jennings and Highway 99) Parking in back of building with ramp, and on street
Workshop Dates and Time: February 28, 2025 10am-3pm Friday
Costs: $100 (6 participants required to run workshop)

~ I never took an oil painting class prior to enrolling in Louisa’s class but really wanted to learn how to paint with oils. I learned so much in this class and had a lot of fun doing it. Louisa is a very patient and knowledgeable teacher, in addition to being a wonderful artist. She incorporates theory, technique and even some art history into the class making for a very interesting and satisfying curriculum. But the best part is the hands on painting instruction that she offers and her keen eye for helping aspiring artists get the most from our canvas! I could see my paintings improve and my confidence grow with each lesson.

~ Louisa’s watercolor class is the most insightful I have taken. Her passion and enthusiasm is contagious! She has taught me to understand color theory and various watercolor application techniques. As a class, we share our work with each other and Louisa provides positive and helpful suggestions. What stood out to me the most, is the one-on-one check ins and advice throughout the class. She is always kind and encouraging, asking if you would like help before offering it. She has inspired me to make watercolor painting a regular part of my life and keep learning! I would absolutely recommend to anyone who has been wanting to learn this craft to take her classes. I will be taking more of Louisa’s classes in the future!
