Neil Simon’s Fools

Fools is Neil Simon’s witty farce set in a nineteenth century Russian village. A school teacher is hired to teach the 19 year old daughter of the local doctor. Upon arrival, the teacher learns that, due to a 200 year old curse, the whole village is stupid and unteachable. The only way for him to break the curse is to marry the daughter. The stupidity of the villagers and a count who also wants to marry the daughter leads to a hilarious conclusion.
