World Cinema Series: Loving Karma

A sequel to the Emmy award-winning documentary Tashi and the Monk, Loving Karma follows Tashi’s twelve-year journey at Jhamtse Gatsal, a children’s community in the Himalayan foothills of Arunachal Pradesh, and explores how love, stability, and daily care can help heal early trauma.
This screening is shown with permission from the local documentary filmmaker and co-director of the film, Andrew Hinton. Hinton will be at the screening to give a special introduction to his film. Viewers are invited to stay after the screening to engage in a moderated group discussion about the themes and message of the film.
This screening is part of the Lake Oswego Public Library’s World Cinema Series, scheduled the last Tuesday of every month at 5:30 pm to showcase diverse international films. Presented in cooperation with the Lake Theater & Cafe, admission is free and no ticket is required (though food and drink purchases are encouraged to offset the cost to the Lake Theater).
Lake Theater and Cafe is located at 106 North State Street, Lake Oswego. For more information, contact April Younglove at 503-534-5667 or [email protected].
