Advocate for Arts & Culture

HELP KEEP ARTS + CULTURE IN CLACKAMAS COUNTY

Why Advocate?
Arts and culture exist not only for social, cultural or entertainment value. They also have major impacts on the economy and serve as a primary way for communities to preserve and celebrate our culture and heritage.

We must strive to keep arts and culture strong and vibrant, and because of the current economic priorities, community support is more important now than ever.

How can you help?

Educating elected officials on the true impact of the arts must be a primary goal for any arts advocate. Arts advocacy involves sharing your views and opinions with the elected officials who make decisions impacting your arts community or organization.

Clackamas County Arts Alliance gets a portion of our funding each year from the Board of County Commissioners. Each year during budget time, we ask you to reach out to the Commissioners and let them know how much you appreciate them supporting arts and culture in this way. And, specifically, how their support of the Arts Alliance is crucial.

It is time to reach out with your message now.

Please email each County Commissioner and share your thoughts on keeping the Arts Alliance in the budget. Tell them what the Arts Alliance means to you and why they should support it.

Use information specifically highlighting how the Arts Alliance supports you or your organization.

If you need specific information on the Arts Alliance, please check our website.
