NEWS NOW - MARCH 2023

Happy Spring!
Here's a short message from our fearless leader, Dianne Alves, on what we have been up to these last couple of months...

The Arts Alliance advocates for arts and culture by building and sustaining relationships with local governments, businesses, schools, and the community.

We are committed to championing all art forms, including visual arts, performing arts, and literary arts and working with organizations throughout the county.

We can’t do this on our own.

I am happy to say that next week we will be releasing our Annual Impact Report, by the numbers. In this impact report, you will see how the Arts Alliance is supporting all arts, culture, and creatives throughout the County.

We are also always working to highlight opportunities and events for our local artists and youth art. This month, I am happy to share some special opportunities you may want to participate in.

The Literary Arts Committee is in the final days of its Writing Contest. This is the first year of the contest and we are encouraging writers from all corners of the County to send it a submission. There are cash awards for the winners in each category. Please consider submitting to this contest!

Step Up Clackamas is hosting an event coming up in April focusing on amplifying BIPOC student voices. This is an all community event where community members and students can hear about the experiences of BIPOC student leaders including viewing of a Student Art Gallery.

The Clackamas County Commissioners are seeking two at large community volunteers interested in serving on the Courthouse Arts Committee. The purpose of this Committee is to identify funding for and select the various pieces of artwork to be installed at the new Courthouse. If you are interested in applying for this opportunity, here is the link.

Finally, a Clackamas County Community Conversation is coming up soon. Keep an eye out for a special invitation email, or click the link in the News Now for more information on how to make your voice heard.

Thank you for your continued support of us, and, therefore, support of Clackamas County Arts + Culture.

Creatively,
Dianne
