Call for Public Art: Gallery Without Walls

The City of Lake Oswego and the Arts Council of Lake Oswego are pleased to invite artists to submit proposals for the next season of the Gallery Without Walls rotating collection. This nationally recognized outdoor public art program strives to integrate art into the daily lives of residents and visitors.

For more than 20 years, the program has made it possible to experience the power of art every day.

The call for artwork for the 2027–2029 exhibition cycle is now open, closing November 30, 2026. Artists can submit completed works and ideas for new work to be completed for installation in August 2027. Accepted artworks will be displayed throughout downtown Lake Oswego for a two-year exhibition period from summer 2027 to summer 2029.

We seek works of various media, including sculpture/3D artworks, suitable for outdoor display in the Pacific Northwest climate and encourage innovative submissions. Submissions of artwork created within the last three years are preferred.

— Up to 15 artists, with one artwork each, will be chosen by the selection committee to display in Lake Oswego.

— Selected artists receive an honorarium of $1500.

— Works will be available for sale, with a 30% gallery fee paid to ACLO upon sale. Purchased artworks must remain on display for the contracted exhibition period.

— Artists are invited to the annual Gallery Without Walls Celebration/Cultural Xchange in September, a community event premiering new sculptures and recognizing artists and supporters.
